On a Adrenaline I have to edit a 30 min. show shot in XDCam HD.
Should I down convert and edit in an SD project or should I edit in an HD project and down convert to master? It’s going to DVCPro.

It seems to make sense to import to a SD project to get it out of the way early.

I do not have the camera footage to experiment with so I’d welcome any advice on work-flow.

If you wanna pan and scan those bigger shots, you’ll wanna keep em 1080 but unless your gonna do that, I see no reason to eat up the drive space.

Also, if you are using an outboard downconverter like Terranex, it will eat up more of your budget to downconvert all the dailies prior to editing.

On the other hand, you can also downconvert straight from the VTR.

It’s actually an in studio, 3 camera iso. I’ll be importing direct from a Sony XDCam drive and doing a multi-camera edit.

Sounds like importing in an SD project would be my best bet.

    Thanks for the insight.
