    Hi,

I am just doing some research for an upcoming shoot. Our DOP has requested a shift/tilt lens to run on a Varicam HDC27H.

I have done some quick research, and found that there are plenty of Shift & Tilt lenses available for 35mm (PL Mount), but I haven’t been able to find something specific for the B4 lens mount.

So, on to my question…. Can anyone recommend a shift & tilt lens that runs natively on the B4 mount, or will I have to use a 35mm lens via a P+S adaptor? I am secretly hoping that there are some B4 lenses available, as we will be travelling internationally with it.

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers,

    Alister

I have used a b4 mount with the Clairmount system in the past. Check with your local rental house, or call them directly.

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for the response. I should have mentioned that we are based in Australia, and will be shooting in Japan, so I will need to either travel with the kit or source it locally when we get there.

I have been researching this overnight, and haven’t been able to find any B4 mount shift & tilt lenses. The people I have talked to have suggested using a P+S adaptor with one of the many existing shift & tilt for 35mm.

Given that we need to travel, we are now looking at renting one of the simpler-to-set-up P+S adaptors so that we can travel the lens & adaptor separately and then mount the lens and adaptor on site as required.

    Cheers

    – does anyone else find it slightly unnerving when you have to say P+S (p-and-s) over and over again in a conversation – especially when there are non-camera folk about who think you are talking about something else entirely…..
