I have a library with 7 events and over a thousand clips, some of which are AVCHD, which is slow to relink.

I have an exact copy of the media on 2 different drives, one for me and one for my producer.

All of the media, cache, proxies, etc are outside of the library so that we have a very small library.

The problem is, when we send the library back and forth it takes a long time to reconnect all the media, like over an hour.

I’ve considering naming the hard drives the same name (haven’t tested yet but will once the relink finishes) but I was wondering if anyone has found a better solution?

We’re mostly using this to make notes on the project file, so it’s very tedious to have to relink everything just to get back up and running.

    Am I missing something?

    Hi
Identical names of drives and matching folder structure should help.

The names are identical, the drives are cloned.

Renaming the volume so they have the same name worked. I guess that will have to work, but I can see this leading to frustration when I had the drive back.

Except it won’t reconnect the proxy media. Aaargh, so close.
