  • Sharing files over crossover ethernet?

We edit DV25 with two PowerMac G5s. If two people have their projects saved on the same computer, they can’t edit at the same time. Would it be possible to connect these two computers with a crossover ethernet cable so people can access files on either computer? If it’s possible, are there any resources available to tell me how to set it up?

You can simply connect an ethernet cable between the machines… then when you open a finder window, select the network icon… the other computer will show up. Follow the connection prompts after you double click that icon for the second computer.. it’s HD can be mounted on your other computer’s desktop. It’s really easy man, you’re running MAC’s of course!

BUT I’d move the project file across to run it locally on the second machine… not run it thru ehternet… just drag and drop the file to the local HD’s documents folder.
