sharing external media between 2 avid dv systems
I would to transport media from a usb drive between two dv express pro systems.
One system is used for digitizing and sorting clips captured to an usb Maxtor 300b drive. Then edited using the usb maxtor drive in another location on a second dv express pro system. What is the best way to make this drive work without having to consolidate or transpose the original media?
Please note the dig system is running xp pro and the edit system is running xp home, I’m not sure if this would create a problem. Both systems are running the same version of dv express pro.nrigs

You do not need to transcode or consolidate at all, just move the drive over to the new system and take the avid project file to the new system too. Start up Avid choose the project file that you moved over and there you go. Make sure you put the project file in the avid projects folder or you wont get the benefits of avid attic etc.
