  • sharing between 32-bit Vegas and 64-bit Vegas?

I just got a couple new PCs that came with Vista (XP wasn’t an option) and I’ll be able to upgrade for free to Windows 7.

We have three other systems that have XP Pro, 32-bit.

As I’m looking to put Vegas 9 on all five systems (but not necessarily upgrade all of the OS’s), is there an issue of sharing a .VEG file between a 32-bit and 64-bit system? Perhaps you can only go from 32-bit to 64-bit (backwards compatible?)? Or is the difference mostly a matter of amount of ram and processing speed?

    Thanks

I hop back and forth between the 32-bit and 64-bit versions on a single Vista64 machine, so it should work.

Yea, I use the same project between XP and Vista 64 all the time and it works fine. Just make sure that you don’t add any 3rd party FX in 32-bit mode that don’t have 64-bit versions or else they will not open in 64-bit mode.

I’ve been jumping back and forth between Vegas 9 Pro on 32 bit Win XP and 64 bit Win 7 for months now with no issues.
