Just wondering if there is an FCP solution to convert to Progressive lower field from m100 footage 640×480 to 720 480 when I have a Mix of Upper and lower.
I have some shots on a DVD I just made that appear shaky blurry on movement. I have imported some shots from Media100 and its in the M100 section that shaky the other shots that I digitized in look good. I’m using FCP6
I have two sources going into FCP6 one is from M100 640 x 480 and the other is digitized in FCP at 720×480 I’m exporting from FCP a self contained QT. Then to BitVice.

The DVD looked ok playing it back on my Cinema screen 23″ from the mac but really bad on my 56″ projection TV from the dvd.

I think this has something to do with progressive lower field or is it upper field? it was looking ok in the edit room on a 15″ CRT monitor

I’m tried another BitVice with top field selected. and The M100 footage is ok but now the DVcam 720 footage is shaky.
I think the only other solution since my M100 material is 640×480 is to digitize it to Betacam and the hook the Betacam up to FCP and bring it in that way at 720×480
    Any other Solutions?
    Thanks

If you’re working in a DV sequence setting, try adding the “shift fields” filter to the m100 footage. Might have to experiment with it… there are three settings to try within it’s parameter settings.
