Hey, just got my HVX200, could someone give me a primer on how to record directly onto a PowerPCg4 laptop with Final Cut Pro 5? Thanks!

When I have done this in the past, I made sure that I had a FW to PCMCIA card in the slot. I attached the camera to that I/O and an external HD to the Laptop’s FW port. As I recall, when you go to the log and capture function, you need to select Non-controled device.

    Cheers,

Also- directly from the HVX’s FW port is fine.

I just got my HVX on Thursday, and spend most of the weekend checking it out. I can directly record into FCP 5.1 off FW 400 with great results.

However, all the clips captured start at TC 00:00:00:00 and start/stop must be controlled by FCP.

I sure would be cool to have the TC follow your P2 data TC and to have FCP start/stop injest on command of the camera. Is this a request to Apple or is there a workaround?

    Thanx,
    Thom
