  • Setting up RAID

    Hi all,

I am new at this RAID, not a tech person.

    I have a G5 Dual 2.7 with a PCI X-133 eSata 4 port card.

I just picked up a SanDigital TR5M-B TowerRaid and have it loaded with (5) Seagate 1.5TB Barracuda drives.

I’d like to do a RAID 10 on it but Disk Utility doesn’t show that as an option. The card that SansDigital sent me is useless, it’s a PCIe card.

Without having to go out a dig up a new card I’d like to try to use Disk Utility to configure this.

I had thought about setting up half of the drive space for RAID and the second half for RAID and use the second for backup. When I try to configure it in DU, it shows only 1.4TB capacity. I was hoping for at least 3.5TB on each RAID.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!
