    Hey everyone

I have just installed my new HIS X1950 Radeon 256 GDDR3 graphic Card. When I open After Effects and try to enable OpenGL, it gives me at message that says that some features are not supported. I bought the card because it was recommended om adobe.com.

I don’t quite understand all this OpenGL… So my question is:
Do I have to setup something in my ATI control panel or in After Effects to have the full potential of my new card?

Make sure that you have the latest catalyst drivers.

X1950 is more of a gaming card. It does support openGL, but through software, not hardware on the board. ATI fire and Nvidia Quadrofx cards support OpenGL directly on the board. I had a X1800 before and due to a switch in editing apps (onto Media Composer) I had to put a QuadroFX card in (3450)…The performance difference in AE is outstanding….
