Been editing quite a long time. Been on a DPG5 with X-serve raid FCP and Decklink SP. Have been working with friends FCP setup who just went KonaLHe from an older Cinewave system. I want to set up friendliest new suite that’s going to capture analog beta as needed, but be forward thinking enough to work with DVCProHD, as most new media will be shot with HVX but still output either component analog or DV50. I’m thinking the new macPro with Kona3 is the best way to go. Can I raid the expansion bays and get enough throughput for uncompressed 8-bit analog as well as DVCProHD? Most of our stuff is shortform commercials….but want flexibility.
    Thanks!

Yes. The you can RAID additonal drives in the new MacPro.

You should be able to get good performance with Uncompressed SD and DVCPro HD in that setup. DVCPRO HD is actually less demanding than Uncompressed SD.
