    Hey All,

Been editing for quite a while, but still having trouble pinning down the best setup for audio mapping/panning and exporting.

    Particular example below.

Getting Mono Source files. 3 people mic’d total of 6 mono channels.

    Channel 1: Mix L
    Channel 2: Mix R
    Channel 3: Boom
    Channel 4: Lav 1
    Channel 5: Lav 2
    Channel 6: Lav 3

I’m creating a multi-channel sequence with Standard tracks with the eventual output to stereo with option of discrete channel exports if need be (from multichannel).

    My questions are:

-Right now, the boom and lavs are center panned. When done with the edit I create a stereo submix and direct the tracks through that to get stereo. Or I cut and paste the multichannel sequence into a stereo sequence.

-BUT! I thought I remember a sound mixer telling me they should be panned left (the mono tracks at first). Then when going to a stereo export you fill the right channel to get true stereo. But I totally forgot what he told me as it was years ago. But I thought center panning mono tracks will give you a muddied sound.

-What’s the CORRECT way to set this up in Premiere for multichannel sequences, then getting stereo out of that with true L and R panning for the cleanest sound?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!
