Setting up a MOV for progressive stream?
Hi, I’ve got a number of .mov’s that i’d like to host on my ftp for progressive download. Thus far, i’ve been exporting 720×405 (don’t ask, had to manually set up frame for 16:9), sorenson codec, 3kbps cbr, simply to test whether it will work at all.
Setting it up with….
autoplay
for streaming server
compressed movie header
hint movie: self-contained and optimizedI upload the .mov to an ftp directory, and when i access that file with a web browser, it will wait until fully downloaded to play.
I’ve also saved a reference file in quicktime with the same name as the original file, with an added “.ref.mov”
so original file: orange.mov
ref file: orange.ref.mov
Uploaded both to the same directory, ref file doesn’t work, and original mov does full download before playing. How can I set this up to prog download?
And secondly…
Can someone suggest maximum optimized settings (bitrate, resolution, framerate, etc.) to allow this to work on a standard high-speed internet line?
thanks
