setting transition length
I am trying to set the duration of a dissolve transition on the timeline with two adjacent clips. I select my transition and drag it to where the two clips meet. There is no icon showing the transition though the properties dialog popsup so it is indeed there. When I stretch out the timeline I can read the “D” for dissolve on the transition but can’t grab it to stretch it. All I see is Fade Offset. What am I missing?

To do a dissolve, you have to drag the beginning of clip 2 backwards over top of the end of clip 1. A symbol resembling an X will appear indicating a dissolve. The more you drag it backwards, the longer the dissolve will be.
