Setting the timecode on FCP
Hello,
sorry if this is a really simple question, but I am just starting out!
I cannot work out how you can set the timecode on the timeline in FCP.As I am going to be outputting to tape, I need to have exact timecode on the timeline and I can’t work out how to do this at all. I will need to set the bars at about 09583000 and the actual edits starting at 1000000.
Please help.

Go to Sequence Settings > Timeline Options tab > Starting Timecode. And I think you mean 00:58:30:00 for your bars start point. That will lead up to 1:00:00:00

Hi thanks for that.it is also the issue of where the edits are placed on the timeline. For example. I want my first edit to start at 1000000 and my second edit at 10.02.00.00. How do I move the edits themselves to these points? Thanks so much

Select the clips – normally I hit the letter “T” four times – it will turn into a double arrow facing right – then when you click with it, it will select all the clips to the right. Then, drag them to the time you want.

Is there a more exact way of getting things to places on the timeline rather than just dragging them? -
Type a timecode into the field in the upper left of your timeline and hit Enter. The playhead will snap to that point and you can place an IN.
