  • Setting Project Properties and Render Settings for BEST Quality

I would really appreciate some advice on my PROPERTIES and RENDER settings in Sony Vegas 8.0. I hav recently shot a school play in my Sony HDR FX-1. I shot it in HD. THe rendered video looks stretched and not real sharp.

I imprted the video in HD but I am not sure about the PROPERTIES and RENDER options. For the BEST and sharpest quality to burn on a DVD…what should my setting in PROPERTIES be for the following:

template, field order, pixel acpect ratio, pixel format, motion blur type, and deinterlace method.

Which oprion should I choose to render the finished project for the sharpest, clearest qualith to burn a DVD:

    Save as Type and Template.

I would really appreciate some help and THANKS in advance!!!!

Click File > render as > mainconcept mpg2 > custom button > Video (tab at the bottom)

You’ll find yourself in the DVD (NTSC or PAL) Video Template.
You can see the “aspect ratio” pull down menu, set this to match your footage which I assume is widescreen. This should hopefully correct your stretched problem presuming your project settings were correct.

As for not being sharp, it’s hard to say. You said you imported in HD. What project settings did you use?

Your project settings might be the culprit for both problems. You might have imported one format, edited it as another and then rendered it to a third format.
