  • Setting manual white balance in PP9 / S-Log 3 on PXW Z90V

    Hello-

I’ve run into a strange issue with my Z90V. It seems that I’m unable to manually set white balance while in the Picture Profile PP9 / S-Log 3 – which I’d like to do for setting to white / grey cards etc. Pressing the white balance button does nothing and going into the menus shows all white balance options as greyed out. The only way to toggle white balance seems to be by changing the Color Mode (Gamut) within the Picture Profile itself between S-GAMUT3 / 3200 – 5500K.

This is an extremely cumbersome method of changing white balance… so I did some digging and realized that if I change the Color Mode (Gamut) to “Standard”, all of the custom white balance settings that I need become available.

My only concern is, am I technically still getting an S-Log3 file while my Color Mode (Gamut) is set to “Standard”. I’m worried about recording inferior files, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!
