  • Service manuals – Discovery Day Studio?

Posted by Bob Mark on September 27, 2009 at 3:43 pm

I’ve been looking for a service manual for the EX1 and the only place I could find one is Discovery Day Studio.
I can’t seem to find any information or reviews on them.
    Anybody familiar with them? Thanks.

    Perhaps I missed your point…

Looks like you found what you were looking for. Were you trying to find a free copy?

You can download a .PDF from the Sony site. I have a copy in my iPhone for when I’m stuck without the
    print version.

I was wondering if anyone had heard of that company. I don’t want to give CC info to someone I know nothing about.

If there is a link at Sony please pass it along. I’m talking about the service manual, not the operations manual.

I hear that it takes a month for Sony to do repairs on a camcorder.

    Thanks

    Bob

What part of free .PDF from the Sony website don’t you understand?
They have a microsite just for the EX-1.

Unless you know something others don’t, there’s no SERVICE manual on Sony’s site and I’ve never known them to give a full service manual away free.

No chance they are going to give that away for free. They sell it for $75 on ServicesPlus. Usually you can find cheaper service manuals on manualsparadise.com but they don’t have the EX series.

Also, Craig.. I just noticed both of our avatars are cats. Does yours smoke hookah also?

That site actually looks really nice. I would love to know if it is legit.
It worries me that you cant find one thing about them online though..

SORRY…perhaps paying the $10 via Paypal will give the extra confidence to make the purchase. Frankly the idea of doing a self-repair with my camera made me blind to, the word ” SERVICE” in manual:)

    Again…My oversight…sorry.
