  • Serious error when opening AVI’s in After Effects 7.0

    Hi,

A few people have reported this so we’ve placed the following support note on our web site.

Attempting to open a standard definition 8-bit YUV AVI movie in After Effects 7.0 for Windows causes a “Serious error” message to appear. This applies to all standard definition 8-bit YUV AVI movies and is not limited to movies captured by Blackmagic products.

Adobe are aware of this problem and are investigating a solution. We are not aware of a workaround other than to use another movie format, eg a 10-bit YUV AVI movie. Customers still using After Effects 6.5.1 with the latest DeckLink and Multibridge drivers have not reported problems opening 8-bit YUV AVI movies and this may provide a solution for some users while awaiting an update to After Effects 7.0.

    Regards,
