    hello!
for my next short-film i need a special effect but at the moment i don’t know how to do it.
perhaps you know the effect – it’s often used in movies and series.
english isn’t my mother tongue but i try to explain what i mean…
1.at first you see the whole face of a person
2.then the camera zooms to the eye of the person…you can see sequences in the eye
3.the camera zooms into the eye so that you can’t see the eye no more
4.the sequences are now fullscreened and the movie continues…

the effect looks like the camera flies through the eye….and the sequences in the eye could be reflections or thoughts of the person…
i hope you know what i mean…if anybody knows a tutorial or could explain how to reach such a effect in after effects i would be very happy!
    thanks!

Set up your camera in a close macro shot of the eye. Then pull the camera back to reveal the face. Reverse this footage. Scale down your next scene so it fits whithin the eye. Use a circle/oval mask to confine it to the eye. Motion track this to the eye. Use a SCREEN transfer mode on it until the scene is almost fully zoomed in. Then blended it to a layer in normal transfer mode.

At the point that the eye is at it’s closest point in the cam move, you will have to animate the scale up to compensate for it. Turn on motion blur and you won’t notice the zoom up for the few frames till it blends 100% to the next shot at full frame.

at the moment i don’t have a good video-sequence so i decided to try it with a photo.
    here is the result:

at the moment it looks a little bit unnatural but i think for my first try it’s okay…and with a video-sequence it will look better…
    thanks!
