  Sequence Settings to export 720×640 H.264 Broadcast B-Roll

  Howdy,

  I’m making B-Roll files of an event in the field for local broadcasters in SD: QT H264 720 x 480. Their specs. So I’m bringing my CPU/FCP/etc.. and importing HDV via firewire. OK so far.

  I need to shoot in HDV tape for later but I also need the field B-roll in SD. So I plan to drop the HDV footage into the timeline (sequence) set for SD: QT H264 720 x 480. I can “punch in” for 4:3. And I can export from the timeline as is.

  Waitaminute. 720 x 480 is wider than 640 x480 which is SD 4:3 aspect ratio.
  Why would they want 720 x 480? Is this a pixel aspect ratio adjustment?

  I need to give them something usable and I need to figure this out before the event next week.

  Your Thoughts?
