  • Sequence Settings & letterbox issues

After applying a Ripple Dissolve to a shot and noticing that it was bleeding the letterbox into the picture, I realized I might have a problem. Then I noticed my sequence settings have changed, not sure how, could really use some input.

    I shot video at 720p, 24pn.
I originally set my sequence to the preset: HDV-720p24
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: Square
    Field Dominance: None
    Editing Timebase: 23.98
QT Video Settings – Compressor: HDV 720p24

Now, somehow, my sequence settings have changed to:
    720×480 – NTSC DV (3:2)
Pixel Aspect Ratio: NTSC – CCIR 601/DV (720×480)
    Field Dominance: Lower
    Editing Timebase: 29.97
QT Video Settings – Compressor: DV/DVCPRO-NTSC

So were my original sequence settings proper?
Should I change back to those settings?
Can I change back to those settings?
And how do I prevent this from happening again?

    Thanks so much.
