  • sequence settings in FCP give warped results in compressor

    hi,
my sequence setting for my 16 minute FCP movie are:
    frame size: 1440 x 1080
    aspect ratio: HD (1440×1080) (16:9)
    pixel aspect ratio: hd (1440×1080)
    field dominance: upper (odd)
    editing timebase: 29:97
    compressor hdv 1080i60

Eventually I want to produce the highest quality DVD for film festival submission.. but at the moment I want to compress my edit into a smaller format to post on vimeo, to get some feedback on my work.

I exported a non self contained quicktime movie from my FCP sequence then brought it into compressor and used the iphone apple setting. THe result was a warped movie!

I know there is some easy formatting or setting answer. Thanks so much for helping!!

    cheers,
    renan

Can you elaborate on what you mean by a “warped” movie? How many times did you try the iPhone preset? Was the result the same every time?

the image is stretched funny.. I tried the H.264 quicktime setting, the apple tv setting, and the iphone setting and they all look funny. I think it might be because of square vs nonsquare pixels??

    thanks for your help!

    Hi Renan,
Duplicate the preset and set the dimensions and Pixel aspect manually.
