Sequence presets in FCP5 (blackmagic HD) Please help
Hello,
I’m a newbie in FCP 5 moving from M100. We are capturing DVCPRO50 anamorphic material from Panasonic HD150 via SDI. The G5, we are capturing the footage into, has a blackmagic HD card installed. However, the powerbook or the powermac the piece will be edited on has no additional hardware. How importnat sequence presets during footage capturing. When we use blackmagic sequence presets, the footage plays back well on the G5 it was captured into. However, on any other machine this footage needs to be rendered to playback properly, and it is really annoying. Any suggestions?

Its simple, if you are capturing using one of the Blackmagic codecs you need to install the Blackmagic codecs on the laptop too. Its not necessary to have a Blackmagic card installed on a computer to install their codecs.
