Upon making a Quicktime movie of a project, I repeatedly encounter the warning that media is missing from a particular sequence, and I am unable to start creating the movie.

Is this warning similar to the breaking of a file path to certain files that have been moved?

I first attempted to locate the particular sequence in question, but could only find sequences with the same sequence number for different projects.

Finally, after many attempts, I was able to create the movie. However, after saving and closing all pertinent materials and reopening the project one day later, I get the same warning.

When I play the project in the timeline it performs normally, showing all rendered sequences and files are present. When I play the one movie I was able to create, it also plays as intended.

    Thanks in advance for help.

Final Cut sequences refer to the render files for playback once the render has been done.

My thought is that some media files are offline, but the render files are allowing the sequence to play. It is likely, as you guess above, that some files that the sequence refers to have had their paths changed. It is possible to have media files in the sequence that are not in the browser.

Good luck, and take care not to accidentally unrender until you get it sorted out.

    Best,

    Tom
