Sequence Error Making Moving Fwd w Project Impossible. Will I have to lose it all?
I got error msg re lost frames and RT. I lowered the quality using the drop down. But I’ve now encountered another problem. I keep trying to make changes in my sequence and I get “Sequence Error: Unable to add clip to sequence. Possible media limit problem in clip or sequence” I’ve been working on the project for a couple weeks now and am getting close to end (or so I thought) but I ‘ve been getting that msg more and more and now I just can’t make any progress. [I’d been trying my own ‘work arounds…in other words just trying to find an edit that WOULD work] That is not cutting it right now and I haven’t a clue how to figure the problem out. I do have 7 sequences. 5 are separate media clips from 5 different shoots. The 6th is where I have compiled selections of those…often using video from one sequence and audio from another of these sequences for a few second clip. Some sections in the 6th and 7th sequence are little “buildings” made up of snippets of audio and video….not usually from more than one of those shoots. Now….actually I originally had started a 7th as a final construction site but when I ran into a problem cutting and pasting because of this Sequence Error problem I went back to the 6th sequence which was also a ‘compilation’ sequence ( in other words I was using media from sequences 1-5) Not only does this Sequence Error come up when I want to cut and past but it comes up also when I want to use the Select All Tracks tool…something I’ve discovered and loved using to make spaces to work in. It will select but when I go to push the track over the Sequence Error msg comes up.
I am so afraid that I am going to have to abandon the project because I have inadvertently done something that I can’t fix or work around. I’ve worked weeks on this (obviously incorrectly) I would do anything not to have to start over.
I KNOW now that I did something very stupid in my editing process and I won’t be doing it again…once I figure out what it is.
PLEASE I’d be ever so grateful if someone would have the patience to help me work through this.

Relax.
You have backups of sequences. Auto Save Vault right?
Also, quit FCP. Trash prefs. Reboot. Repair Permissions.
Create new project. Copy from old proj. sequences into new sequences in new Proj.How big is your proj. file?
How long our those sequences?Chris Tompkins
