    Hello there,

I’m editing a pitch project for a reality show, and I had to rip some dvd’s for footage. I used Mac the Ripper to rip the dvd and turn the footage into a .VOB file. Then I used MPEG Streamclip to convert the footage into a Quicktime movie. Now I’m trying to edit this, and when I bring a clip down into the sequence and try to play it, the very beginning of the clip always flashes a frame or two of footage from the clip’s master clip that wasn’t chosen, like footage that came right before the in point. But when I go through it frame by frame, it doesn’t show up. What could be the deal?

Your QuickTime Movie. What codec is it? ProRes, DV, h.264?

How did I guess. That’s not an editing codec. Try converting to ProRes.

Well I may of figured it out. I was editing using H.264, which, as it turns out is not an editing codec. So thats a major bummer.

Right now I’m converting it to DV using MPEG Streamclip. That’ll do it right?
