(Warning: File this under Stupid Questions)
When I drop a clip of video on the time line, it displays both the audio and the video tracks, which is great. Is there anyway I can separate one from the other so that I can lengthen the audio only and not the video, or vice versa? I just can’t seem to find the answer in the books.
    Many thanks in advance,

    Multiple ways:

    1. Select the video or audio and press “U” to “Ungroup” them. Then you can use them independently.

    2. Turn on “Ignore Event Grouping” (it’s a button on the toolbar) and then you can use them independently. Just remember to turn that option back OFF when you’re done.

Many thanks! I misunderstood what the Grouping function was.
