    I want to split, crop and edit the vido track without altering the attached audio tracks. So I need to unlink or seperate the two tracks. As when I cut/split the video track the audio will not be effected. So I can move the video track and leave the audio in place.

    Highlight the vid track (or audio track either one) hit the “U” button-that will “unlock the 2 tracks. Then highlight just the video clip you want to split PRESTO! it’s split and the audio isn’t. Delete the portion of the clip you want out and replace it with the new clip.
