separating m/e tracks in fcp 5 for dvd sp
Hi guys, I am still falling my way around this new program. Thanks for the help. I need to get the movie ready for burning into dvd sp 5. Then it goes (hopefully) to be glass mastered. How do I put separate m/e tracks on the disk. They are all separtaed. Do I need to import them into compressor? If so how do I highlight just the tracks? So, do I need to import dialog tracks into compressor, then music and effects, then lay them both into dvd sp? How? thanks

Why would you need M&E tracks on your DVD?
M&E ussually go on your video master so language versioning can be done to replace the English Dialogue.
DVD’s are just the distribution format, not the mastering format.

How did you get DVDSP 5?…..(you don’t have to answer that, DVDSP 4 is current)

Any tracks that are selectable options in the dvd should be seperate encodes.
Alternate video tracks (angles) and different language or comentary tracks can be copy and pasted to a new sequence, nested or mixed down and exported using compressor.
Different language or comentary tracks will likely share the same music back grounds but will need to be mixed down seperately so they are complete stand alone tracks.
