“Send to Motion” from FCP give Low-res Footage

When FCP sends the footage to Motion, it creates a Motion project with the footage already imported. I would hazard that FCP is not properly setting the Alpha Type for the clip, in the Motion project. But when you import it into Motion, yourself, Motion has the opportunity to detect/guess the alpha, and sets it correctly.
If it seems like the alpha is gone, just select the clip (in Motion) and press Shift+F, which will take you to the Media settings for that footage. Check the Alpha Type popup menu (first item) in the Media tab of the Inspector, and see if making a change fixes your problem.

April 12, 2006 at 8:53 amOkej. The problem is the same as with After Effects. I have to set the footage field-domninace to NONE or it gets 50% lower resolution. Irritating, but it works.
Now I noticed that Motion won’t respect filters but on clips in Final Cut. This REALLY sucks I must say since Final Cut has the three-way color corrector and motion doesn’t
