  • Semiautomatic RED tint balance between two cameras – is there anything?

I’m starting a new tv show which was shot on two red one cameras which were not calibrated on set and the footage from them has a difference in white balance and tint. It has greenish cast from camera A and magenta cast from camera B. I’m thinking of making two RMD files for green and magenta shots and a script which will copy corresponding RMD file to the A or B rdc folder. Did anybody try that method?

You can do thsi easily by copying and pasting settings in Redcine X, and then saving the RMD sidecar (you can set Redcien X to “auto-save”. Then create a NEW project (otherwise Davinci will use old settings from first time you loaded clips in media pool – I wish there was a “refresh RMDs button)) in Resolve, and reload clips they should all be fixed as they were in Redcine X.
