I assume it’s on 2 layers?

Make a selection of the triangle layer (control+click on layer, Win). This creates a section. Selections are layer independent.

I assume you want to flip some of the text white? Duplicate your text layer, change the color to white and then click the mask button to create a mask based on selection. Voila.

Edit: A clipping mask would work a bit better but I fear just understanding it would be a bit on the advanced side.
