selecting a clip on the timeline that hasmany stacked clips CS5.5
EDIT – woops this is working now – I’ve found that posting to a forum is one of the best ways for a problem to disappear. No idea why it wasn’t working for 20 minutes, but as soon as I went back from posting this question, it worked.
Hi, I have a timeline with about 7 tracks stacked vertically, clips on all tracks – some of the clips are simple png’s that I want to be able to move around and resize over the top of an underlying (track1) video clip that fills the entire frame. I find I cannot select the png’s and move them, no matter what I click on in the timeline eg I select the track and png clip, as soon as I try and ‘grab’ that png in the preview window the selection jumps to the video track so that I cannot actually move or adjust the png. I can only move and adjust the video on track 1. The track order is video on 1, png’s on tracks 3-7
Is it possible to select a clip and adjust it when that clip is nested vertically between others on the timeline

Select clip in the timeline.
Go to the effect controls and hit the transform icon (or highlight the word Motion). A bounding box will appear in the Program Monitor. Now you can move that clip around.———————————————–
