    Hey Guys

Anyway to select the next or previous clip in the timeline?

Because until Adobe adds in a button to disable/re-enable (not remove) all FX in the timeline I am manually disabling the effects after I apply them per clip to speed up the preview and at the end I iterate through them to enable again for export..

Would be faster to have a keyboard shortcut to move to the next clip, but haven’t found the functionality.

Or any alternative workflow suggestions perhaps?

    Thanks,
    Leon

Well a work around I found is to copy and paste all the clips into a new sequence and all the FX will be activated again. Then I save the original sequence as a NOFX version and the new sequence as the Completed version.

    Hope that helps someone!

No there isn’t in PPro (at lease cs5 which I work with). It’ s a feature in edius which I use but miss in PPro. The only workflow I came up with (when making templates or repeating something many times on multiple clips) was to use an automation tool , look for the image of CTI and select the clip under the playhead with a clip, lengthy process I know but the only way. Maybe I should request a feature request to adobe

Yes a feature request would be great. It would really speed up things! But the real winner would be an overall button for enable/disable effects.

I wonder if they presume it unnecessary because of adjustment layers? I rarely use them, but if you had a track with only adjustment layers in it you could enable/disable at will.. But to create adjustment layers for 100+ clips just ain’t cricket!

Select Next or Previous Clip is available in Premiere Pro CS Next. I don’t know of an NLE that has a control for enable/disable effects, but it’s not a bad idea. Please create a feature request: https://www.adobe.com/go/wish

To select new clip in timeline as if you clicked it with a mouse:
    Select Next Clip: Cmd+Down
    Select Previous Clip: Cmd+Up

    Mac OS Yosemite
    Premiere Pro CC

Make sure V1 is your active video track (by default V1 and A1 are highlighted, they are in the timeline, at the very left, where your track number and key frame buttons are located). Ensure it is the only track highlighted.

After it’s highlighted, press down and you will move the playhead to the next edit point.
Press D to select clip that the playhead is located at.

Press Shift 5 to highlight the effects panel.

The rest must be completed by mouse clicks as far as I can tell for turning off / on effects. You can install programs that execute macro’s to select and delete things, I recommend keyboard maestro. You can automate all of the above.
