This seems pretty basic, but I can’t seem to find information on this anywhere.

I’ve got a complicated time line with many tracks. When I go into the middle of the project to delete a small bit of footage, I want to move EVERYTHING (on every track, including all envelopes) simultaneously over to fill the gap.

Trouble is, it’s difficult and time consuming to use the ‘selection tool’ to draw a precise box around 2 hours of footage on 10 tracks.

Is there a simple way to place the cursor in the gap, and select everything on either side so I can drag it all over?

“Select to the End” only does one track at a time. Auto ripple seems to work, but even with “All Items” selected, I can see it leaving envelope points behind as the stuff moves. I don’t want any unpleasant surprises down at the other end of the time line.

Any help with this would be much appreciated! Thanks!

That’s why I wrote the “Select Events” tool that’s in Excalibur. It can do it at the touch of a button. In short, scripts are your answer. If you’re using a “Movie Studio” version of Vegas, scripts can’t be used.
