I´m trying to find a good and easy way to create a security cam look for my footage in FCP6. Do i need /is there some plugins that do the job?

Just add noise, intermittent blur, some image roll, take away any clarity or sharpness in the footage, add useless timecode information, date, etc and blow out the exposure.

no plugin needed just a bit of time.

There’s no doubt it, Graeme Natress’ TV Effects in his Big Box of Tricks would make this easier. https://www.nattress.com/Products/BigBox/Bigbox.htm

try all of the above, plus, you may want to try “down rezzing” the clip into off-line RT. That really looks like crap! Might just do the trick for you! Or, change it to black and white, and alter the frame rate to 15 fps.

Finally, the thing that “sells” the security cam look the most is camera placement. If the angle is “high and wide” and locked down, that’s going to look the most like a security cam. Anything else is just going to look fake.

In the olden days, we’d have simply shot it. Take your clean video, play it back on an old CRT, and just shoot it with a security camera. Add more noise and junk if you need to but, honestly, you can tweak these filters and animation overlays for days and still only get something that looks unacceptably fake.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
