I just got the new Macbook Pro from Apple, with FCP Studio 5.1
It only comes with one hard drive. What do you all suggest I do for the second hardrive,
to keep my video files? I am new to the Mac/FCP world.
Been Avid editor all this time.

I can get an external drive, but what kind do you all suggest will work
well with a MacBook Pro, for video storage, to edit on FCP Studio?

    Thank you!!

What video format are you using?

The 2 most popular methods for most formats are to either use a Firewire 800 drive or to get a SATA card for the express slot and use an external SATA drive.

The G-Tech drives seems to be popular for either of these options although there are many other brands out there. The best bet it to get one of their RAID products…an enclosure with 2 actual hard drives within it.
