    Hi there,

I suddenly started having problems when trying to monitor my timeline and clips from the browser at the same time I use my second computer display. If I choose external video all frames and Digital Cinema Desktop Preview – Full Frame/Raw as my Video Playback, both my canvas and my viewer show only still frames.

I tried trashing my prefs but the problem persist… I can’t play clips/sequence and view them simultaneously on my canvas/viewer and the external video.

I’m using FCP 7.0.3, OS 10.6.8, Quad Core Intel 2.66Ghz, 6GB of RAM

Any help will be much appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Marcos H.

Make sure the View menu>external video> isn’t set to single frames.

Thanks for the reply. It’s actually set to all frames. The other thing I noticed is that I have this problem only with a project which is dv-NTSC 29.97, 720X480. I just checked other projects, one Apple Pro Res, 1920,1080 and the other XDCAM HD 422 and the playback/canvas play simultaneously…

    Other thoughts?

Hmm, so it only does this for a DV project? That’s odd.

Could the DV project think it’s outputting via DV/FireWire?

Do you have a camera/deck attached that might be confusing it?
