  • “searching for movie data”

Posted by Deborah on March 24, 2007 at 9:15 pm

I just transferred a project with about ten hours of footage and many sequences from one hard drive to another with more space. Everytime I go to open the project, FC (5.14 on a MacBookPro) goes through files one by one for about ten minutes with a pop up “searching for movie data”. I tried trashing my preferences but that didn’t make any difference.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Dborah

That means that you have imported reference movies and the media that those movies are referencing aren’t there. If you delete those movies out of your project, it should go away.

Is there any easy way to find and delete the reference movies? I’m not sure how to identify one.

    Thank you!
