Hi, I’m looking for a good software that can allow to branch seamleassly parts of a documentary that have been cut during editing. I it can be done (by big corporation, at least) but I couldn’t find anything anywhere. Some people told me about Sonic Scenarist SD, but the high price for this and the uncertainty that it can do it (based on researches done on this very forum) are not encouraging. Also, the lack of tutorials & getting started elements aren’t helping either.

    So any recommantations ?

    Thanks to answer.

Even Scenarist SD can’t do what you want fully. It is not capable to do real seamless branching, so don’t expect that cheaper software can do. I’ve never seen a software tool that is capable of seamless branching by myself, but as far as I know, there is a Toshiba authoring tool that is fully capable.

Hello Andreas. Can you get more information about this Toshiba tool, if possible ?

    Sorry, I can’t!
The Toshiba system has been sold to partner authoring houses only (I think around a number between 15-20 worldwide). The software was primarily intended for inhouse development & testings.
Matsushita, Philips & SONY may have their own similar software, but those capabilities has never been leaked.
