  • SD to SD conversion NOT avaialble for LH or LHe???

    hey you kona kids

So it seems a little cryptic in the driver version 3.2 release notes, but am i correct in understanding that the new 16×9 to 4×3 conversion capabilites are only available on the high end kona cards, and not the LH? (or the LHe?)

that would truly suck, as thats all i have

I tried making it happen, and even thought theres a choice in the control panel for the secondary video out, it aint happenin

Also, how do i get the Timecode burn to track my FCP timeline? It seems the only way i can do it is to export a QT, then play that back using Kona TV Utility

    thanx

Darn, I was hoping for SD to SD conversions with our Kona LHe setup

Yeah, I was wondering that too when I install 3.2. LH is basically AJA’s SD card, and Kona 2 and 3 is their High Def card (yes, I know all cards do both formats). So you would think an SD to SD conversion would fit the LH community better than the HD folks who run Kona 2 and 3’s. Maybe in the future we can see this on the LH card?????

I understand the Kona 2 and especially Kona 3 plattforms have a lot better processing power onboard. However, as Ron points out – the Kona LS and LH is “more suited” for SD-work. We when with the Kona LHe for analog and digital SD and HD. HD is secondary, SD i still primary. Kona 3 is all digital
