September 24, 2005 at 5:54 amThe Kona 2 has the ability to upconvert SD footage of HD.
If it is DV though, it won’t look that good. Basically zooming into the footage nearly 200%.

September 24, 2005 at 2:19 pmYou’ll probably get a lot of “jaggies” around the edges of object and you’ll notice the interlacing lines are very pronounced when you upconvert DV footage. The best way to do an upconvert from DV is to use something like a Terranex converter which you can find at high end post houses or a transfer house. With the right coloring and transfer, your DV footage can look like true HD. http://www.cinefilmlab.com is a fantastic house here in Atlanta that can perform the service.
