I know there are many posts about how to get rid of text flicker on scrolling text like credits (the expressions, the animation preset) but I am curious as to how I can apply it to a few lines of text that need to move vertically but not out of frame. I need my text to move from a position of 186 to 144 in approximately 2 seconds in a 29.97 720×486 project. Any ideas? I had trouble with the math part of it since the time/distance it has to move is so short.

    Thanks!

    How about two position keyframes?

That’s what I am currently doing. Problem is that it’s over a still background and you can really notice the flickering.

are you seeing the problem in the ram preview or after rendering with fields in an nle on a broadcast monitor?

i’m trying to determine if the problem is a field jutter issue or an antialiasing issue.

for now, i think i’d try a little directional blur… i’d try fast blur, set to about 1, veritcal only. see how that works… but you may find that subtly moving, high contrast hard edges are problematic.

you might also try a text color that is less contrasty with the background image, maybe even decrease the opacity a little… and if you have too, add a little noise over everything to try and mask the hard edges…
