I am trying to scroll credits (text) over a video and have pauses between the text categories and end with the last category of text coming up from the bottom and staying in the middle of the frame.

example: video is playing and first category of text slowly scrolls up from bottom and out to top of frame then two second passes of no scrolling text then next category of text scrolls like the first category with the last category scrolling up from the bottom and staying centered in the middle of the frame.

I am in the Media Generator in Credit Roll and can not control the timing issue of the categories, size of font from line to line of text in category, or it automatically looping that I don

Use the standard text generator and then use keyframes and the “Placement” tab to get your movements/pauses.

Gary, first of all I have to say how much the Vegas 5 Companion has been a help to me. It is well worth the money – the first time you have a problem it has paid for itself.

I stopped the looping by experimenting and right clicked on the file in the time line, went to switch, and de selected the check infront of loop. That did it.

I would like to know where the text dialog box is though so I can learn what you are talking about.

No kidding the DVD has got to be the best 100-bucks I have spent in a long time – what a reference.

Thank you for your kind remarks about my training DVDs.

The dialog box first opens when you apply the text media to the timeline or when you right-click the test media and choose Edit Genereated Media.
