script?
Posted by Accountclosedduetonorealnameused on July 10, 2007 at 12:41 amI have a long line of text. I want to create a separate layer for each letter without changing the current line’s layout (size, kerning etc)
anyone know if there is a script anywhere for this?

July 10, 2007 at 11:47 pmtried decompose. would be great if it kept the kearning. tried it twice now and it jumbles each letter on top of each other (not keeping the position of individual letters)
ae7 & cs3.. same result.Am I doing something wrong?

I gave up after using it, because as you say, it does not keep any attributes of the text as it was before running the script unfortunately.Instead I looked further into AE 8’s new per-character 3D capability…it is quite impressive.

July 11, 2007 at 3:10 amoooooh yes. a much anticipated feature. I’m guilty of having to hand-animate individual letters (nightmare), hand spaced, in 3-d before this feature was released.
