script to add image files in media bin to a track

You don’t really need a script to do this. Just select the clips in the bin and drag them to the timeline.

hi edward ,

i actually need a script to show folder dialog box and when a user chooses one folder should import the files into newly created mediabin .
and from the media bin should place the files to a track in correct numbering.

regarding numbering in vegas media tab. i have a numbered sequence of 50 pngs named img1.png to img50.png. but in the media tab after the img1.png i have img10.png instead of img2.png. can we arrange the media files by name or size etc .

Sure, just change the Project Media view to Detailed, then click on the column headers to sort.

Get into the habit of using as many trailing digits as you have images.
In this case, name your images img01.png, img02.png, etc. and you won’t have any issues.
With animation sequences of 1,000 images or more, it’s imperative that this be done.

I agree with Mike. Sounds like you’re misnumbering your images. You definitely need the leading zeros. img001, img002, img003

Otherwise, Img10 DOES follow Img1.

Are these an image sequence? If yes, load them as an image sequence and you’ll only have a single entry in the media pool. If these are a bunch of individual pictures, that’s a different story.

thanks for the info .

so the leading zeroes shld be added. OK after adding the leading zeroes it becomes a numbered seqeunce of images ? i’m just creating a image for each text line in Textfile. so on average i will have 60 imgs. so is this a image sequence ?

If the above is not image seqeuence , what should be the code to add 100 different images to a specifed track using script?

An Image Sequence is when you want one frame per image. I doesn’t sound like that’s what you want in this case.

Now that the images are correctly numbered, just select them all, grab the FIRST one, and drag them to the timeline.
