  • Script for quickly chopping up giant image in AE?

    Hi all,

We want to do a giant video wall in AE and it’s matte/frame will be upto 30,000 pixels wide, so I know we need to chop it up into manageable pieces and slot/parent them back together in AE…

I read in an old post there is a script that can achieve this pretty quickly, but after a bit of googling I can’t find it. Any ideas?

In Photoshop, slice up your image using slice tool

Use Save for web and devices = picture and html create a folder and save there. Then, using Bridge, Select all images in the folder which you have slices.

Tools > Photoshop > Load files into photoshop layers.
You should have PSD with slices as layers

    This might work

30k from a single project? Or played back from multiple sources?
This can be approached many different ways upstream of AE but your playback system is relevant to the approach you would take.

    Nice, Robert.
Scrips in AE are completely unexplored territory for me.
