This computer I am setting up has 2 drives

    – 500GB (2×250) 7200 rpm SATA Hard Drive
    – 400 GB 7200 rpm Hard Drive

The 500 GB drive is set up as C & D. My question is how should I best exploit this scenerio for maximum performance. I am not used to the split drive, does it work like two independent drives or is there a bottleneck? Also, would it be beneficial to use an external drive My Book Pro in addition to these others or would the lag outpace the gain of seperating the media? Any comments suggestions would be great!

    Thanks
    Steve

Nope, it’ll still be working as one drive as far as file access goes.

I usually use the “best” drive for the operating system alone. Everything media / capture or the second or even third drive.
