Hey cows, I’m havin’ a heck-of-a-time making an all red colored logo look decent as a corner bug. It’s on a widescreen DVCPRO50 timeline. I’ve tried a high rez import. I’ve tried making it to size in Photoshop then importing it. I’ve tried an alpha channel and then letting final cut overlay the color. I’ve tried adjusting the chroma and blacks and whites to all techniques. It all looks the same. Crumby! It gets these black splotches (pixels) in the middle and it becomes terribly aliased.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

Thanks Dave for responding so quickly, but this old dog has been watching the vector from the get go. I’ve never had trouble like this before. It’s a fairly blocky logo too, so it should have no trouble keying properly. I’m stumped.

Yes, I even tried a matte color from an alpha channel of the logo right in Final Cut.
It’s driving me crazy. The only thing I haven’t tried as an experiment is to build it into an uncompressed timeline to see if it goes away, but I’ll still have to output it as a DVCPRO50 anyway.
Thanks Dave for your input. Keep thinking. We may stumble on something.

Have you tried creating the alpha, key, in motion or after effects?
